Shiva Chalisa Paath

Shiv Chalisa Paath is conducted to worship and seek the divine blessings of Lord Shiva. Shiv Chalisa is a sacred devotional hymn of 40 verses that glorifies the greatness, compassion and divine powers of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is one of the Holy Trinity deities of Sanatan Dharma alongside Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. He is revered as the destroyer of ego, ignorance and negativity and the Supreme Lord who transforms His devotees through spiritual awakening and truth. Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of the Shivling and is known by many names such as Mahadev, Shankar, Rudra and Bholenath. His divine form symbolizes supreme consciousness, detachment, destruction of evil and infinite compassion. Lord Shiva is considered one of the easiest deities to please and lovingly fulfills the wishes of devotees who worship Him with sincerity and devotion. 

The Shiv Chalisa is derived from the sacred Shiva Purana and was composed by Sage Ayodhya Das. Reciting the Shiv Chalisa, known as Shiv Chalisa Paath, is regarded as one of the most effective ways to seek the grace, protection and blessings of Lord Shiva. It removes obstacles, negativity, fears and difficulties while blessing devotees with health, peace, prosperity and spiritual upliftment. Shiv Chalisa Paath can be performed daily or with a specific Sankalp (wish or intention). Mondays, Mahashivratri, Shravan Maas, Pradosh, Dwadashi and Trayodashi tithis are considered especially auspicious for performing Shiv Chalisa Paath.
