The Balaji Yantra is worshiped for relief from pains and sufferings and fulfillment of desires. Regularly worshiping the Balaji Yantra and chanting His mantra opens the heart to receive his boundless grace. Bhagawan Balaji is a popular deity in South India, particularly at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh. As a result, the Balaji yantra attracts the blessings of Tirupati Balaji, and bestows physical, financial, spiritual, and material abundance to the worshiper. This yantra is said to shield the worshiper from harmful influences, to build a spiritual layer of protection, and to grant bravery, power, and prosperity. Balaji Yantra also purifies and bestows prosperity. This yantra is also worshiped for good fortune and victory in all types of conflicts and litigations. It also brings good health and peace of mind into the worshiper's life.

Presiding Deity: Bhagawan Balaji

Mantra:  Om Niranjanaya Vidmahe Nira Pasahaya Dheemahi Tanno Srinivasa Prachodayath||

What is Balaji Yantra?

Yantras are intricate and powerful geometric diagrams that hold profound significance in various cultures and traditions. They are geometric representations of specific Deities/Energies like how Mantras are audio/verbal representations of different Gods. Yantras act as channels to invoke the blessings and qualities of these specific deities. The Balaji Yantra is a sacred geometric design containing specific symbols, mantras, and patterns associated with Baghawan Venkateswara. It is regarded as a potent instrument for meditation, concentration, and spiritual practices, and is used to connect with divine energy and seek divine blessings. It is well known for removing sorrows and bestowing happiness, health and prosperity.

The 2-dimensional Balaji Yantra comprises an etched image of Baghawan Venkateswara with his iconic attributes such as the Sudarshana Chakra (discus) and Sankha (conch). On its right side the diagram of the yantra is formed by a remarkable central point (Bindu) within a Circle. The central point  represents the main deity associated with the yantra. The retinue of the deity is often represented in the geometric parts around the center. It also represents the point from which all of creation emanates. It stands for the fact that everything that exists in the universe is actually one and the same. Thereby, it is through this point that the devotee and the divine merge into One. Three points symmetrically etched with a Triangle encircle the Bindu, and a larger Circle surrounds the previous set. These Circles stand for rotation and progression so nothing remains static but symbolizes constant change. These are followed by a Shaktona (Hexagon) representing the convergence of female energies or Shakti (downward triangle) and male energies or Shiva (upward triangle) and another larger Circle. 8 Petals of lotus extended into 32 smaller petals complete this beautiful yantra, and four Squares in the outermost part of the yantra complete it. Taken together, this is a powerful yantra for both protection and prosperity, capable of removing sufferings and bestowing a flow of joyful events into one’s life. It also brings growth in all spheres of life.

Bhagawan Balaji is another name for Venkateswara, which is composed of two separate words. The first word 'Venkata' refers to a hill in Andhra Pradesh where the Baghawan resides, while the second word 'Isvara' means Baghawan itself. Also, "Venkata" is a Sanskrit word that means "destroyer of sins," where "ven" means "sins" and "kata" means “to destroy.” Baghawan Venkateswara is depicted with a dark complexion and four hands. He is holding a discus (a symbol of power) and a shell (a symbol of existence) in his upper two hands. By angling his lower hands downwards, the Bhagawan asks his devotees to have faith in him and surrender to him for protection.

According to legend, Baghawan Venkateshwara borrowed money from Kubera to pay for his wedding to Padmavathi. A large Hundi can be found inside the temple complex, where devotees offer to Him money and gold. Donors believe he will be able to repay the loan to Kubera. With huge offerings received from devotees every year, the Tirumala Tirupati Temple has settled as the richest temple in India.

How to Meditate on Balaji Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Balaji Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Balaji Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.

  • One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Balaji Yantra at their Eye Level.
  • Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.
  • Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1st Layer of the Circle to the 2nd Layer of the Three Points to the 3rd Layer of the Triangle to the 4th Layer of the Circle to the 5th Layer of the two interlocked triangles or Shaktona to the 6th Layer of the Circle to the 7th Layer of the 8 petals of Lotus to the 8th Layer of the Circle to the 9th Layer of the 32 petals to the 10th Layer of the Squares in the outermost part. These are the steps or Avaran of Balaji yantra.
  • Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.
  • Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.
  • After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Balaji Yantra Diagram accurately.
  • Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Balaji Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.
  • This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
