Guru Yantra represents the planet Jupiter or Guru. According to the Holy Rig Veda, Jupiter (Guru) should be worshiped with utmost devotion. Pleasing the planet Jupiter offers you prosperity and intelligence. The worshiper is blessed to tread the virtuous paths with divine protection in every sphere of their life. Jupiter is said to be kind and affectionate towards those who worship him. In the opinion of astrologers, the bountiful phase of Jupiter lasts for sixteen years. Jupiter is one of the most positive planets as considered by Vedic astrology. As the largest planet in our solar system, Jupiter's orbit around the Sun takes approximately twelve years. It is considered one's instructor. Those with Jupiter in a favorable position in their horoscopes are wise, honest, spiritual, God-fearing, and sincere. Guru yantra is extremely beneficial for those whose birth charts contain a debilitated Jupiter. The planet Jupiter stands for the search for meaning and purpose, optimism, hope, and a sense of right and wrong. So, too, does faith, which is a basic way of looking at life and a way to try to grow and expand spiritually.
Bhagawan Brihaspati
Om Kleem Brahaspatya Namah ||
Guru Yantra energizes the location where it is installed. You may place it near the entrance of your home/office/shop or in your living room or reception or study room or office cabin. You may keep it on a table or use it as a wall hanging. Yantra is best placed in the East direction facing West. It gets energized by the rising rays of the Sun and with the divine vibrations of the East corner and provides positive transformation energies to the dwelling through its mystical geometry.
Yantras are intricate and powerful geometric diagrams that hold profound significance in various cultures and traditions. They are geometric representations of specific Deities/Energies like how Mantras are audio/verbal representations of different Gods. Yantras act as channels to invoke the blessings and qualities of these specific deities. Guru Yantra is a sacred geometric diagram representing the divine energy of a Guru or spiritual teacher in Hinduism. It is used as a powerful tool for meditation, devotion, and seeking blessings and guidance from the Guru.
The 2-dimensional diagram of Guru Yantra comprises a Square divided in smaller boxes with etched numerals in a 3x3 grid. The number 9 predominates and repeats all over these. It represents completion, but not a final conclusion; rather, it represents the end of one cycle so that the next can begin. It is a recognition of life's ever-changing tides. The number nine is the highest-valued single-digit number in numerology, also known as a cardinal number. The number 9 represents that you have lived and learned; that you are living a meaningful, conscious life; and that you are pursuing rewarding goals. It is related to wisdom and knowing the life path. Planet Jupiter or Guru shows the path and promotes higher learning and the expansion of our personal perspectives. The predominant presence of this number along the yantra resonates with the energies of Bhagawan Brihaspati or planet Jupiter, whose image is etched below the Square. This is a guiding yantra that illuminates your path and gives direction both in the material and spiritual planes of existence. It is very beneficial for seekers and spiritual guidance.
Jupiter (Guru) is a symbol for the idea of growth. Its house position and zodiac sign show how and where in life a person will try to broaden his or her horizons, such as by traveling to faraway places and learning about other cultures or by observing and thinking about philosophical, political, or religious ideas.
Jupiter's position in a person's house shows the broad area of life in which he or she strives for higher ideals, meaning, and growth. Jupiter is interested in understanding things as a whole, while Mercury is good at paying attention to details and making connections between different things. Jupiter and Mercury are both planets of knowledge and communication, but they rule opposing houses, Mercury rules the Third House (early learning and schooling) while Jupiter rules the Ninth House which relates to developed and higher learning, and mental and spiritual expansion.
In Vedic astrology, Jupiter, or Brihaspati Graha, is linked to growth, prosperity, and good luck. People believe that having a strong Jupiter in a good place in their birth chart will bring them wealth, career success, a happy marriage, and good health in general. Bhagawan Brihaspati's followers can do remedies and pray to him to get rid of any bad effects that Jupiter has on their astrological charts.
As per ancient scriptures a yantra work in tune with the cosmic order. Every frequency/sound creates a waves vibration pattern which can be observed through various means and in turn sacred geometrical patterns contain divine frequencies. In Modern times this research has been done in the field of Cymatics.
Yantras are sacred geometrical patterns which are actually wave patterns of different Deities & Energies created by their inherent frequency. Just like how Specific Mantras aligns us with specific Deities & Energies, Yantras are tools which can be installed, worshipped & meditated upon to achieve union with these divine principles. They were extensively researched and are mentioned in various ancient Hindu Scriptures & Tantras. Guru Yantra embodies the Divine Principles of the planet Jupiter & blesses us with its grace. The Guru Yantra derives its energy from its inherent scared geometry as well as the Electromagnetic Energy Field of Sunlight as well as Geomagnetic Energy Field of the Earth. When Guru Yantra is installed in your dwelling it vibrates at a frequency which harmonizes the environment with its principles.
As mentioned, Guru Yantra can be installed in your dwelling to improve Vatsu & bless you with the energies of Guru. Meditating on the Guru Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Guru Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.
One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Guru Yantra at their Eye Level.
Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.
Begin by focusing on the upper left numeral of the Square as you move your gaze from left to right, then visualize the numeral sequence in the middle arrow as you move your gaze from right to left. Then, from left to right, repeat the process across the bottom arrow. Then pay attention to the etched image of Bhagawan Brihaspati beneath the Square. These are the steps or Avaran of Guru yantra.
Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.
Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.
After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Guru Yantra Diagram accurately.
Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Guru Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned, however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.
This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
