What is Pratyangira Yantra?

Yantras are intricate and powerful geometric diagrams that hold profound significance in various cultures and traditions. They are geometric representations of specific Deities/Energies like how Mantras are audio/verbal representations of different Gods. Yantras act as channels to invoke the blessings and qualities of these specific deities. The Pratyangira Yantra is regarded as a potent tool for protection, negative energy removal, spiritual growth, and transformation. Devotees frequently perform rituals, chants, or meditate on the yantra to seek Pratyangira Devi's blessings and grace. It is thought to provide spiritual strength, inner peace, and to protect the worshiper from harm or negative influences.

The 2-dimensional diagram of Pratyangira Yantra comprises a Circle surrounding the Bindu or central focal point of the yantra. This symbol is known as the Guru Gyan Chakra, which is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Chakra'. It represents rotation, which is fundamental to the macrocosmic progression's operation. In addition, the circle represents both perfection and the peaceful, creative void of the Vishuddha chakra, which is associated with protection from negative energies and purity. It also signifies infinite space (the akasha element) and expansiveness. An inverted Triangle around this Circle stands for the limitless protective power of Pratyangira devi (a downward triangle is a symbol of the divine feminine) which is being materialized by two interlocked Squares (Earth element) around these. The sacred diagram has also 8 Lotus petals and crescent Circles. The 3 concentric Circles in the outer layers represent manifestation and are enclosed by four Squares in the four cardinal directions. Taken together, this is an extremely powerful yantra for both endless protection at all levels being physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

"Pratyangira" derives from the Sanskrit words "prati" meaning "against" and "angira" referring to the sage Angiras. According to legend, Pratyangira Devi emerged from the third eye of Bhagawan Shiva to combat the rage and power of Hiranyakashipu, the demon who terrorized the universe. According to legend, she appeased Hiranyakashipu and restored cosmic balance.

The Pratyangira Yantra's central element is usually a representation of Pratyangira Devi herself. She is often depicted as a fierce and powerful devi, with lion or lioness attributes. The yantra's surrounding geometrical patterns and symbols are intended to increase the potency of the devi's energy and facilitate communication with her divine essence.

Those seeking protection, the removal of negative energies, and liberation from obstacles and difficulties worship Pratyangira Devi. Her devotees believe she possesses the ability to swiftly resolve their problems and grant them courage. She is also revered as a devi of righteousness and justice.

Pratyangira Devi's devotees frequently engage in rituals, prayers, and meditations in order to seek her blessings and connect with her divine energy. As mentioned previously, the Pratyangira Yantra is frequently worshiped to seek protection from negative influences and to increase inner strength. Consequently, Tuesday is deemed a suitable day for connecting with her fierce and potent energy.

How to Meditate on Pratyangira Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Pratyangira Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Pratyangira Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.

One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Pratyangira Yantra at their Eye Level.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1st Layer of the Circle to the 2nd Layer of the Inverted Triangle to the 3rd Layer of the Square to the 4th Layer of the upwardly pointing Square to the 5th Layer of the Circle to the 6th Layer of the 8 Petals of Lotus to the 7th Layer of the Circle to 8th Layer of the second Circle to the 9th Layer of the third Circle to the 10th Layer of Squares in the outermost part bordering the yantra. These are the steps or Avaran of Pratyangira yantra.

Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.

Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.

After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Pratyangira Yantra Diagram accurately.

Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Pratyangira Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.

This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
