The 2-dimensional diagram of Hanuman Yantra comprises a main Circle with two opposed semicircles or half-moon shapes on both sides of the Circle representing unwavering Devotion beyond dualities. They are associated with the Sun (Soul Consciousness) and the Moon (Mind Consciousness) which are polar opposites. As they are within the main Circle it indicates they must be understood and transcended. According to astrological tradition the Sun stands for the masculine principle, the father, action, vitality and willpower. On the opposite side, the Moon is associated with the feminine principle, the mother, emotions, feelings, instincts and reactions, and receptivity. This duality or opposition denotes the life cycle, with the Sun representing involvement in the world and the Moon introspection and contemplation. Eight petals surround the main circle with etched numerals, also on the two semicircles within the main circle. These 10 numbers represent the 10 senses (5 inwards and 5 outwards) which are also called Gyanendriya and Karmendriya. They also represent the 10 planets, the Navgraha and the Earth. The outermost rectangular Squares represent the material world.

Choose an auspicious day after checking the Hindu Calendar preferably a Tuesday.

Have a bath & wear clean clothes.

Sit in a comfortable sitting posture while facing East.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Place the Hanuman Yantra in front of you on a Puja Thali.

Light a Diya Lamp and Offer Namaskar.

Using Kusha Grass or a Spoon sprinkle Gangajal on yourself and your surroundings while chanting Pavitrikaran Mantra:

"Om Apavitrah Pavitro Va Sarva Vastan Gatopi Va 
Yah Smaret Pundari Kaksham Sa Bahya Bhyantarah Shuchih"

Translation:

May all things unholy become holy, may all lower tendencies depart, just as soon as we transcend may within and without be purified!

Chant Ganapati Mantra: Om Gum Ganapataye Namaha (11 times) 
Chant Shiva Mantra: Om Namah Shivaye (11 times) 
Chant Vishnu Mantra: Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya (11 times)

Perform Abhishek (Ritualistic Bathing) of the Hanuman Yantra using Water, Milk, Honey, Panchamrit & Sugar while chanting “Om Hum Hanumate Rudratamkaya Hoom Phat”.

Wash the Hanuman Yantra with Water & Wipe it with a Clean Cloth.

Offer Kum while chanting Hanuman Yantra Beej Mantra: “Om Hum Hanumate Rudratamkaya Hoom Phat'' after each recitation. You may chant this Mantra 9/21/51 or 108 times.

Perform Panchupchara Puja.

How to Worship Hanuman Yantra (Simple Procedure)

Some may not be able to perform the puja as mentioned above, in this case one can follow the simple puja procedure mentioned below. Note that any form of worship done with a positive intention will bless the devotees.

One can worship Hanuman Yantra using the technique mentioned below. 

Choose an auspicious day after checking the Hindu Calendar preferably a Tuesday. 

Have a bath & wear clean clothes. 

Sit in a comfortable sitting posture while facing East.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts. 

Place the Hanuman Yantra in front of you on a Puja Thali. 

Light a Diya Lamp and Offer Namaskar.

Sprinkle water on yourself and the Hanuman Yantra. 

Apply Sandal Paste to the Bindu of the Hanuman Yantra.

Offer Kum to the Hanuman Yantra. 

Offer Fruits or Sweets to the Hanuman Yantra. 

Light a Dhoop Incense and Offer that to the Hanuman Yantra.

Chant the Beej Mantra “Om Hum Hanumate Rudratamkaya Hoom Phat” 9/21/51 or 108 times.

Perform Parikrama (Circumbulation) around Hanuman Yantra 3 times. 

Chant “Om Shantih, Shantih, Shantih!” & Conclude the Puja.

How to Meditate on Hanuman Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Hanuman Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Hanuman Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head. 

One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Hanuman Yantra at their Eye Level. 

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1^st Layer containing a Circle. Into this circle focus your gaze in the middle part of the circle. Then move your gaze to the 2^nd Layer which is the left semicircle within the circle to the 3^rd Layer which is the right semicircle within the same circle to the 4^th Layer contemplating the full Circle. Then expand your gaze to the 5^th Layer comprising 8 Petals and then to the 6^th Layer of Squares in the outermost part. These are the steps or Avaran of Hanuman yantra.

Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu. 

Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.

After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Hanuman Yantra Diagram accurately. 

Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Hanuman Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.

This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.

Where to install Hanuman Yantra?

Hanuman Yantra will energize the area where it is placed, it can be installed anywhere in your home, office, factory, dwelling. Ideally it should be placed in the East Corner of a room facing West.
