What Is Pooja Thali, Types & Its Significance

Puja thali is an integral and prime article of the puja ceremony. Puja thali is a plate that holds various puja articles, namely the ghee lamp, kalash, akshata, bell, two vessels (for keeping either kumkum, turmeric powder, chandan, or abhir and a vessel for water. In Hinduism, before the puja ceremony begins, the puja thali is decorated and kept ready to do aukshan. ‘Aukshan’ is an age-old traditional ritual of waving a lit ghee lamp in clockwise circular motions in front of the deity idol or photograph to honour and welcome the divine celestial frequencies on earth as well as into our house with the help of the lit lamp (fire), and to surrender to those frequencies at the same moment.

Significance of the Puja Thali
