Significance Of Donation

0 Comments3 min Read

Donations are an integral part of religion. Since time immemorial, both the terms 'Donations' and 'Religion' have been used together, so much so that they have become synonymous to each other. The sentiment behind this is that if a person cannot attend religious rituals for any reason, then the donations offered by him convert all those acts as religious by virtue of which he has earned that money. This definition has become more meaningful in the present times. Being engrossed in earning wealth has created a scarcity of time to attend religious rituals in the lives of humans. On the other hand,  lack of wise and knowledgeable scholars has also made religious accomplishment a tougher task than before. In such a situation, pilgrimage contentment and peace to a person, the pursuit of which brings him to religion.

Donating items specific to a planet on the designated day and time, chanting the mantra of the planet 27 times pleases the planet.

SURRENDER OF THE LORD'S WEALTH TO THE LORD HIMSELF.

ESHAVASYAMIDAM SARVAM YATPUNYAM JAGATAMJAGAT ||
TEN VYAKTEN BHUJITHAHA MA MRUDHRA KASYA VIDHDHANANT||

In every molecule of the earth, the Lord resides. All humans therefore have within themselves divinity. Only after parting with whatever we have should we enjoy. Therefore charity is surrendering the Lord's wealth to the Lord Himself. Charity, which is done to help poor, destitute, orphans, disabled, the unhappy indirectly reaches God. Because of charity if ego erupts it vitiates the purpose of charity. Charity should be done with the feeling that the Lord's wealth is only being returned to Him. Charity which is embellished with the element of surrender is noble indeed. We should donate 1/10th of our monthly income in religious activities.
